The Peak District is well known for its stunning scenery, tranquil valleys and rough gritstone edges. Sat on the boundary of the White and the Dark peak, the Sir William enjoys a massive range of walks for all abilities or athletic desires right from it’s doors.

We offer packed lunches, a drying room for boots and coats, and local buses and trains can move you about without using your car.

And if it really gets exciting, the owners (and some of the staff) are on the local Mountain Rescue team…

If you want to move through the stunning countryside a bit faster, then plenty of both trail running and fell running routes start from the door. You can either explore on your own, grab some ideas from the team or pop yourself on one of the Beyond the Edge running courses.

We have a range of maps and walking guides to borrow, or just ask one of the staff and we can point you in the correct direction and provide a packed lunch to keep you fuelled along your way.

If your four legged friend is your walking companion we have a number of rooms which are pet friendly for a small additional cleaning charge.

For groups of mates or clubs, we have a four bed room at very reasonable rates and you can hire the whole of the hotel for a truly memorable break.
